Currently PDF files only, up to 10MB in size with no page limit. We chose to focus on PDFs because they are the most common format for training documents, guides, reports, and business materials.

WCAG stands for Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. Version 2.1 at the AA level is the international standard for digital accessibility — and as of April 2026, it is the standard required by the updated ADA Title II regulations for public institutions. It covers things like alt text for images, proper document structure, color contrast, and keyboard navigation.

IncludeDocs extracts the full text of your uploaded PDF and formats it as a BRF (Braille Ready Format) file. BRF is the standard format used by Braille displays and embossers. The file follows proper BRF conventions — 40 characters per line, 25 lines per page — and includes a title page, the full document content, and an accessibility notes section. You can load it directly onto a refreshable Braille display (such as a Focus 40 or BrailleNote), or send it to a Braille embosser to print. You can also open it in free software like BrailleBlaster (brailleblaster.org) to preview it on screen.

Yes. IncludeDocs extracts the complete text from your PDF and includes it in the BRF file — not just a summary. The only content that cannot be included is text that is embedded inside images (image-only PDFs). If your PDF contains selectable text, the full content will be in the Braille edition.

No. Your uploaded file is processed and immediately discarded. We do not store, share, or use your documents for any purpose. Please see our Privacy Policy for full details.

For most business documents — photos of people, charts, diagrams, logos — the AI generates accurate, contextually relevant descriptions. For highly technical charts or specialized imagery, we recommend reviewing the alt text before distributing the document. The accessibility report will tell you exactly what was generated.

Yes. The processed PDFs are tagged to work with all major screen readers including JAWS, NVDA (Windows), VoiceOver (Mac and iOS), and TalkBack (Android).

After processing your document, IncludeDocs generates a spoken summary that tells you: the document name, number of pages, number of images found, how many alt texts were generated, and your before-and-after accessibility score. You can play it directly in the browser — it's designed for blind users who want an immediate audio confirmation of what was done.

Password-protected PDFs cannot be processed. Please remove the password protection before uploading. Most PDF software allows you to do this in the File or Document menu.

IncludeDocs accepts PDF files up to 10MB. If your file is larger, here's how to compress it on each platform: • Mac: Open the PDF in Preview, go to File → Export as PDF, and change the Quartz Filter to Reduce File Size. For more control, use the free ColorSync Utility app. • Windows: Open the PDF in Microsoft Edge (built-in), print it to Microsoft Print to PDF — this often reduces size. Alternatively, use the free tool PDF24 (pdf24.com) which has a compress feature with no file size limits. • Linux: Use Ghostscript from the terminal: gs -sDEVICE=pdfwrite -dCompatibilityLevel=1.4 -dPDFSETTINGS=/ebook -dNOPAUSE -dQUIET -dBATCH -sOutputFile=output.pdf input.pdf Online option (all platforms): Smallpdf (smallpdf.com/compress-pdf) and ILovePDF (ilovepdf.com/compress_pdf) both offer free browser-based compression — no software to install.
