Our Commitment to Responsible AI
IncludeDocs uses artificial intelligence to make PDF documents accessible. We are committed to using AI transparently, responsibly, and in a way that respects your privacy. This policy explains how and where we use AI, how your data is handled, and the limitations you should be aware of. It works alongside our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
How We Use AI
AI powers the core of IncludeDocs. When you upload a PDF, our AI analyzes the document structure, generates alternative text for images, produces an accessibility report with before-and-after scores, creates a plain-language audio summary, and prepares a Braille-ready (BRF) version of the text. These outputs are AI-generated and clearly labeled as such within the tool.
Governance Principles
We follow four principles: Transparency — AI-generated content is visibly labeled so you always know what was produced by AI. Human Oversight — AI outputs are drafts and recommendations that you should review before relying on them. Fairness — we aim for accurate, unbiased descriptions, but recommend reviewing alt text for specialized content. Accountability — we take responsibility for how AI is used in our tool and review our practices regularly.
Your Data & AI
Your uploaded files are processed to fulfill your accessibility request and are not stored after processing. We do not sell your data, and your documents are not used to train AI models. AI requests are routed to trusted third-party model providers under their data-protection terms, and data is transmitted securely over HTTPS. IncludeDocs is built on Base44, which states that it is SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certified and does not use your data to train external foundation models. Limitations & Disclaimers
AI is powerful but not perfect. AI-generated content can contain errors or 'hallucinations,' particularly for highly technical charts, specialized imagery, or niche subject matter. IncludeDocs is provided for accessibility assistance and informational purposes only — it is not a substitute for professional legal, compliance, or accessibility-auditing advice. Always review AI-generated output before distributing important documents.
Acceptable Use
Please only upload documents you are authorized to process. Do not use IncludeDocs to generate or distribute deceptive, discriminatory, or unlawful content. Avoid uploading highly sensitive personal information unless it is necessary for the document's purpose.
